Zooey Deschanel's big sister used to "terrify" her to the point of tears.

The New Girl star says her actor sister Emily Deschanel was a tease when they were both children. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Zooey told how her sibling played out scenes from a horror movie to scare her.

"She basically just used the plot of Invasion of the Body Snatchers to terrify me," Zooey said. The movie is about group of people who discover the human race is being replaced by clones.

The quirky brunette also recalled how her Bones star sister tricked her into believing she had been replaced by an alien from Neptune. She said the teasing used to make her cry.

"The Neptunians had killed my real sister and replaced her with a facsimile who looked just like her, talked just like her, but when my parents weren't in the room, made crazy faces at me," she said.

"She would make me cry and then she would laugh. But hey, that's what siblings are for, right?"

Emily also tormented her by talking in a monotone voice like android V.I.C.I. from Small Wonder.

Zooey's star is rising since her sitcom New Girl became a hit. She has also previously starred alongside her sister in Bones.
