(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jim Carrey says even tough gang members act like children when they meet him.

The Hollywood star has carved out a successful career making comedy movies, appearing in hits including The Mask, Dumb & Dumber and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Jim claims his film performances have a positive effect on most people and many angry looking adults are reduced to giggling kids when they meet him.

"I don't generally like to perform in front of people, but it's not annoying," he said in an interview with British television show Daybreak. "You know, I love love. I am lucky enough to have stumbled into something in my life that can turn the most hardened face into a child when I see people. I have gang members come up to me and do impressions of my movies and it turns them into children. So, you know, Somebody stop me!'"

Jim's latest big screen outing is in Mr. Popper's Penguins. The 49-year-old star plays a workaholic whose life is turned around by the unexpected inheritance of six Gentoo penguins.

He loved working with the animals and says it was a fantastic experience to have them on set.

"They really are funny, they are a no-lose situation," he explained. "You know, you could stick penguins in a room and they would be entertaining on their own, but hopefully the double bill gives it that extra whammy." (C) Cover Media
