A R Rahman would be felicitated by Studio Babelsberg of Germany, the world’s oldest film studio, and their orchestra with a show named ‘Classic Incantations’ in India.

The Indian tour of Rahman and Babelsberg will kick off from Mumbai on 20th January 2012. This will be followed by performances in New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Chennai. 

Announcing this to reporters in Chennai Wednesday, Rahman said, 'I am excited and grateful to Babelsberg orchestra for their gesture. There won’t be any song, dance or ‘Jai Ho’ kind of stuff! It’s purely orchestral rendition by Babelsberg from K.M. Conservatory.'

'We will create a new high point for music lovers across India through these concerts. I hope to inspire youngsters to take up music composing in a big way through these concerts,' added Rahman.
