Jackie Shroff's maiden Tamil flick 'Aaranya Kaandam', was bestowed with the Western Union Audience Award at the London Indian Film Festival 2012.

Released in June 2011, the film received rave reviews and also earned the National Film Award under the category of Best Film. 

"It's nice to know that people in Europe loved the film. In fact, people across continents love the film. It also worked with audiences in the US and with the jury at the Indian National Awards. And it is appreciated now in Europe also. I'm thrilled," said Kumararaja, director of the movie.

Starrin Jackie Shroff, Yasmin Ponnappa, Sampath Raj and Ravi Krishna, Aaranya Kaandam was a gangster drama.
