The struggle with censor officials still continues for S.P.B. Saran, the producer of the film. Jackie Shroff plays an aged gangster, Yasmin his tortured mistress, Sampath a thug, Ravi Krishna a lovelorn youngster and Anandh Babu, an impoverished zamindar. What brings their lives together forms the core of the plot, leading to all the fun and action.

The narrative style of the movie is different from the regular fare. The action scenes are dramatic and exaggerated in some parts; in other parts, they are more realistic. The movie has received a good response from the cine celebs.

SPB is quite upset that the Censor Board has issued 'A' Certificate, with around 30-50 cuts from the film. The producer approached the tribunal in New Delhi to ward off the cuts, to no avail.
