Bollywood actor Inder Kumar has been detained by Versova police station on alleged rape charges.

In a shocking turn of events, Inder has been accused by a 23-year-old woman, who is known to Inder.

Currently, the girl has been sent for medical examination. Once the report comes, Kumar will be placed under arrest on conditions of anonymity.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim, the police have booked Kumar under sections 376 (Rape), 324 (causing grevious hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to sources, Kumar and his wife Pallavi had a major fight on Thursday evening. Following that, Pallavi came to the Versova police station and complained against Kumar. Pallavi also complained that she suspected Kumar of having a relationship with another woman.

However, Inder clearly dismissed the news saying, "The girl is a struggler and not to be given any importance. I was on 'hi and bye' terms with her. In fact she and my wife Pallavi had a big fight. I have sorted things out with my wife and she is with me. The girl has gone and filed a complaint, but what she is saying is untrue," he told a leading daily.
