AFI To Award The Top 10 Serials And Movies Of 2010

December 13, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): American Film Institute (AFI) named the top 10 movies and TV series of 2010 and it recognizes the outstanding works and achievements in the field related to moving arts. Making it to the Top 10 in AFI list is an achievement by itself. This year television programs that dominated the nomination primarily come from the genre of comedy and even AFI could not avoid the attraction that the other side of the life has on people hence The Walking Dead gets a name in Top 10 too.

Other than The Big C, Breaking Bad, Modern Family, and 30 Rock even the Glee gets a nod. It surely will make the Gleeks a happy people and perform their hearts out in the next episodes. On the serious note three HBO originals got recognitions too, one on the World War II, a miniseries called The Pacific produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg, the other a biopic called Temple Grandin a woman brings in a humane way of handling livestock. The other is Broadwalk Empire. Other TV serial getting a nod is Mad Men.

In the film category the range has been varied from a movie like Toy Story 3 to a psychological thriller like Black Swan and a sports bio-flick like The Fighter and another biographical film 127 Hours. There has been a nod for sci-fi thriller like Inception, a comedy drama like The Kids are Alright, a film on the most predominant thing in the internet and lives of people The Social Network is in the list too.

A western film True Grit is in 2010 top list as well as drama Winter Bone and Ben Affleck directed a crime movie The Town along with all the others in the Top 10 list will be honored at the Four Seasons Hotel on Jan 14, 2011.
