Ajay beefs up for 'Singham'

27th May 2011

The most versatile actor of the current lot, Ajay Devgn surely surprises every one with each of his films. With his serious role in 'Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai' he amazed everyone by his intensity; in 'Golmaal 3' he was able to tickle the audience's funny bone. With his upcoming film 'Singham' he is surely hitting some serious stuff. The actor has been preparing for the role ever since it kick started in Goa. 'Singham' is a hard-hitting action cop flick that has Ajay Devgn in the role of a tough cop.

To authenticate the character of a tough cop he had to shape up his body accordingly. He trained himself rigorously for three months. After which he was able to achieve the beefy looks that he has been sporting recently. The look is leaner with lots of cuts and shaped up muscles. The film is produced by 'Reliance Entertainment' and Rohit Shetty, taking a break from comedies, is directing this serious film.

Talking about Ajay's look in the film director Rohit Shetty says, "We've tried to achieve for AJ the physique of a man who could bash up 20 people, if he so wished. It's not a six-pack look. Anyone can achieve that with injections and steroids. The manliness has to come through as he plays a tough cop who is from a village on the Maharashtra-Goa border. It is a raw action film filled with hand to hand combat scenes, something one rarely gets to see in movies in this day and age of high gadgetry. Ajay's trainer Prashant Sawant is putting him through the paces."

After delivering so many hits last year and starting off this year on a positive note as well, fans can't wait to see this 'Shingham' hero onscreen.
