Alex Pettyfer slams Hollywood

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Alex Pettyfer has compared Hollywood to prison.

The British actor, who is currently starring in movie Beastly alongside Vanessa Hudgens, has seen his popularity rise since appearing as the title character in Alex Rider: Stormbreaker back in 2006.

The 21-year-old has insisted that he doesnt care much for fame, despite Hollywood catapulting its actors and actresses into worldwide recognition.

Alex sees the destination as more of a prison where he is trying to live up to the standards of Johnny Depp.

"I really don't give a s**t about any of that," he explained in an interview with VMAN when asked about being famous. "I wish I had some interesting stories about living in L.A., but mostly I just do my work and then go home. Being an actor is like being in prison. You go, you serve your time, you try and replicate Johnny Depp's career and then you move to Paris."

The disgruntled star also explained what he thought of Hollywood as a whole. Alex says he doesnt care much for the disgusting place where the majority of celebrities reside.

"L.A. is growing on me a little bit, but it's still a s**t hole," he complained. "I think it's this insidious pool where nearly everyone lives in fear. Geographically it's fantastic, but socially it's disgusting. I wish they'd run all the ****s out."

Alex, who broke up with his I Am Number Four co-star Dianna Agron in February, has also proudly announced that he has a crude tattoo above his crotch area. The inking reads Thank You.

"In case I forget to say it," he said with a wink when asked the reason for having it done. (C) Cover Media
