Alexa Chung's tip for festival fashion

28th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Alexa Chung has advised festival goers on how to put together their party wardrobes.

A seasoned visitor to outdoor music events, the British TV presenter recommended to leave precious items of clothing at home.

Known for her vintage-inspired, quirky style, Alexa has become one of the most copied women when it comes to creating a cool-yet-practical festival outfit.

"Only bring the things you don't mind getting ruined," she told WWD at the particularly mud-prone Glastonbury festival in England.

Other style icons who revealed how they cope with the volatile weather conditions included Noisettes' front woman Shingai Shoniwa. The singer is renowned for her unusual and colourful stage costumes and suggested a different sartorial strategy.

"Mascots, hats, glitter, paint who cares about the mud when you're leaving a trail of glitter wherever you go?" she said.

Annie Lennox's teenage daughter Tali, a budding model, also chipped in with some style guidance. The stunning brunette suggested to resign yourself to the fact that things are going to get dirty and give up on trying to remain glamorous.

"The mud's going to get you anyway so you might as well embrace it, and give up on trying to look perfect," she said. (C) Cover Media
