Amy Winehouse pushed' on stage

22nd June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Amy Winehouse was "pushed" on stage by bodyguards before her disastrous Serbian show, it has been claimed.

The troubled British songstress, who has fought a public battle with drugs and alcohol, was booed at a gig in Serbia on the first night of her 12-date European tour over the weekend. It has been alleged that despite a ban on alcohol during her tour, Amy managed to sneak some drinks backstage in Belgrade.

The 27-year-old singer was an hour late for the concert and then proceeded to slur her words, drop the microphone, miss her cues and looked confused as she walked unsteadily around the stage in front on a 20,000 strong crowd.

Ana Zoe Kida, whose band Zemlja Gruva shared the show with Amy, has now claimed the star was forced onto stage after she feeling hesitant about performing.

"Four British bodyguards simply pushed her to step up on stage. She did not want to and was making a scene trying to escape them," she told British newspaper The Sun. "It was distressing to see, she obviously needed help."

Amy's spokesman revealed yesterday that the singer would not continue with her shows.

"Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances. Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen," he said.

However, he denied reports that Amy was "pushed" on stage and claims she voluntarily walked on, accompanied by a friend.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Amy will be the subject of a new documentary.

Celebrity stylist Alex Foden is hosting a one-off show which he is discussing with British actor James Alexandrou to direct.

"Filming starts on Sunday and is set at the rehab clinic Alex and Amy attended. It is going to be a raw, hard-hitting account about Amy's descent into drugs... James and Alex make a plea to Amy to sort herself out," a source told British newspaper The Mirror.

Before her series of shows kicked off, Amy spent a week at The Priory clinic in London, with her representative explaining she had "embarked on a treatment programme" to ensure she was ready for performances in Europe this summer.

The singer famously previously stayed at The Priory on occasions between 2007 and 2009. (C) Cover Media
