Amy Winehouse returns to stage

15th July 2012

Amy Winehouse could return to the stage as a hologram.

The British jazz singer died after an alcohol binge last year aged 27.

At the American music festival Coachella earlier this year, a hologram of late rapper Tupac appeared on stage alongside hip-hop stars Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre. Amy's father Mitch is considering following the US stars' lead.

"The most important thing to Amy was the music and I'm sure a lot of people would like to hear her sing again," he said.

"It depends on what Amy's fans want as a way to keep her memory alive. If it's a book, an album or a hologram, then so be it."

Mitch set up a foundation in Amy's honour following her death. She famously battled drug and alcohol addictions during her life and it aims to help young people who are disadvantaged.

The charitable organisation is planning a show to pay tribute to the late star, although it's unknown if the hologram idea will be featured then.

If it does, Mitch would be unlikely to see it.

"I can't watch Amy on TV or listen to her songs, it's really difficult," he said.
