The 1993 comedy film 'Aankhen' starring Govinda and Chunky Pandey in the lead roles was a superhit that was directed by David Dhawan.

It is now heard that Anees Bazmee who wrote the script for the 1993 film is planning to direct a sequel.

Titled 'Aankhen Char', the film will be produced by Pahlaj Nihalani, who also produced the 1993 film and it is touted to hit the floors in August, 2013.

All excited about the project, Pahlaj confirmed the same stating, "Anees has written Shola Aur Shabnam, Aazad, Andaaz and Andhiyan apart from Aankhen for me and it would be great to have him direct the sequel. He has a flair for comedy. Also, let's not forget that Anees knows the pulse of the audience and ensures good box-office returns."

He further added, "This film will be a comedy of errors and will be funnier than Aankhen."

This will be another project for Anees who earlier confirmed that he will be making a sequel to 'No Entry' (read news).

The interesting news is that Dhawan's version had Govinda play a double role, but Pahlaj plans to tweak the storyline a bit and show both the leads in a double role. The cast for the same is yet to be confirmed.
