Angelina Jolie: Brad thinks I'm a nightmare

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Angelina Jolie will be a "nightmare" now she's directed a movie, her partner Brad Pitt has joked.

The Hollywood star helmed In the Land of Blood and Honey, her first turn behind the camera. The movie is set during the Bosnian War and looks at how the violence affected one romance.

Angelina thoroughly enjoying making the picture, although her partner Brad is concerned about how it will affect the rest of her career.

"Brad thinks I'm going to be a nightmare," Angelina laughed. "I had such a good experience he thinks I'm going to be impatient with directors, which I already am. I get impatient with people working on a film that have their head in their hands like it's the most complicated thing in the world.

"I've never felt more exposed. My whole career, I've hidden behind other people's words. Now it's me talking. You feel ridiculous when you get something wrong."

Angelina also wrote the film's script, and has described how that came about. She became ill so wasn't allowed to be around the six kids she raises with Brad. Bored and lonely she decided to write something, which she eventually gave Brad to look through. "I was in the attic of a house in France. I was isolated, pacing. I don't watch TV and I wasn't reading anything. So I started writing. I went from the beginning to the end. I didn't know any other way," she told Vanity Fair.

"[I gave it to Brad when he was on a trip and] he called and said, You know, honey, it's not that bad.'"

Angelina didn't initially plan to direct the picture, but found it impossible to entrust it to anybody else. She went to great lengths to ensure it was historically accurate, giving it to both Bosnians and Serbians to examine.

She chose to cast unknown actors and actresses, and stands by that decision. Angelina thinks it'll help people understand the message of the movie and wouldn't have made it if she'd been asking to use big name stars.

Brad was regularly seen with her while she was shooting In the Land of Blood and Honey, and Angelina admits he was a great help even though she didn't always listen to him.

"He'd come in and say what he liked or what he didn't understand. Like any woman, I would listen to most of it and fight a few things. He's been so supportive. But it's hard to separate the person that loves you from the critic, so I don't think he's a fair judge," she explained. "People will judge for themselves. I think if you make a good movie people walk away arguing."

Angelina also took the time to dispel a few rumours about her private life. "There is no secret wedding. I'm not pregnant. I'm not adopting at the moment," she laughed. (C) Cover Media
