Anupam Kher nominated for 2018 BAFTA Awards

A prestigious moment for Film Industry as veteran actor Mr. Anupam Kher has been officially nominated for the 14th edition of British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) awards. This is Kher's first major international award nomination and he is applauded by the entire film fraternity.

The 63-year-old is nominated for Best actor in supporting role category for BBC TV movie 'The Boy With The Topknot'. Anupam Kher tweeted, "Thank you for the nomination. I feel honoured and humbled." Kher has tough competition on the trot and the rest of the nomination line-ups are Adrian Dunbar for 'Line Of Duty', Brian F O'Byrne for 'Little Boy Blue' and Jimmi Simpson for the Black Mirror episode titled 'USS Callister'. The 2018 BAFTA Television Awards will be held on May 13.

Talking about the BBC Orignal movie 'The Boy With The Topknot', it is based on the memoir of British Sikh Sathnam Sanghera, a retelling of his family history, of growing up in Wolverhampton, and of his discovery that his father and older sister were schizophrenic.

Apart from 'The Boy With The Topknot', Anupam Kher has also appeared on the show 'Sense8' and 'The Indian Detective'. In his life-long Bollywood career, Kher has bagged six Filmfare Awards, Anupam Kher has also received the Padma Shri and the Padma Bhushan in the field of acting.
