Arterton to begin shooting movie

(Cover) - EN Movies - Gemma Arterton, Vanessa Redgrave and Terence Stamp will begin filming musical movie Song for Marion this month.

Directed by Paul Andrew Williams, the picture will see Vanessa's character Marion and her husband Arthur, portrayed by Terence, as a retired couple who live in the North-East of England.

Marion attends a progressive choir run by Gemma's character, with both women trying to persuade Arthur to sing too.

Producer Ken Marshall has explained how the movie, which will see all three stars showcasing their vocal abilities, hopes to capture the essence of the British choir.

"Choirs have always been a massive part of the British social fabric,' Ken is quoted as saying in British newspaper The Daily Mail.

The picture will features songs from artists as varied as Motrhead, Stevie Wonder and Cyndi Lauper. Ken added that when 74-year-old film icon Vanessa performs her classic ballad moviegoers will be "crying into [their] shirts".

The six-week Song for Marion shoot will begin on July 18 in various locations in the North-East of England. (C) Cover Media
