Ashlee Simpson is officially a single woman.

Her marriage to rocker Pete Wentz ended last month when their divorce was finalised by a Los Angeles judge on November 22.

The couple cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the breakdown of their marriage, but have remained friends since their split.

They announced they were separating in February just three years after tying the knot.

The exact details of their separation has been kept confidential and the pair have apparently also entered into a 103-page settlement agreement which will only come into effect if there is ever a dispute between them.

Ashlee, 27, and Pete, 32, are parents to three-year-old son Bronx Mowgli and have continued to co-parent him, even going on play dates together as a family.

The singer, who is the younger sister of Jessica Simpson, initially filed for sole custody of their son but it is thought the pair finally agreed on joint custody.

Pete has said in the past that he has "nothing but love and respect" for his ex-wife and will do the best he can to ensure Bronx has a stable upbringing despite the break up.

Both Ashlee and Pete have both moved on with new relationships. Ashlee has been dating Boardwalk Empire star Vincent Piazza since June and Pete is said to have grown close to model Meagan Camper.
