Balakrishna's much awaited look as Lord Rama in Sri Rama Rajyam was unveiled on the stage at an event held to celebrate the success of the film's music.
The actor said his father, legendary N T Rama Rao, was an inspiration when it came to playing this role, and hoped that his role as Lord Rama will appeal to the audience. "At a time when so many meaningless films are being made, I appreciate producer Sai Baba's endeavor to make a mythological film," he said.
Nayantara plays Goddess Sita while veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao plays Valmiki in this film directed by Bapu.
An emotional Balakrishna said, "I recently heard that a guy talked ill about our films and belittled our directors saying none of our director’s experiment with films. I told him to learn the history before talking such nonsense. We have great directors like Bapu who made many classics."
