(Cover) - EN Fashion - Beth Ditto has never wanted the body of a model.

The Gossip frontwoman has become an icon for plus-size women the world over as she is so happy with her body. She is confident stripping off for magazines, and prefers to show off her curves in tight dresses than to cover them in baggy apparel.

Beth has designed a clothing line for UK high street store Evans, and says fashion is something shes been interested in her whole life. Shes never considered slimming down so she can wear certain items, explaining she has always been happy with her appearance.

I was lucky enough to not idolise the models but to love the fashion of it all and the style of it, she explained. I wanted the clothes, I didnt really want the body.

The 29-year-old is determined to show women its best to accept your size rather than obsess about losing weight. She turned down the opportunity to work with retailer Topshop several years ago because she was unhappy with the way they sized their clothes. The store didnt stock things she could wear, so Beth wanted to make the point that she thought it was unacceptable.

It was so much money too, an ungodly amount of money especially then, but I was like, No Im not going to do it, she told UK interviewer Fearne Cotton. It wasnt a difficult decision because I had always told myself that if I was ever confronted with those decision that thats what I would do. I went with my gut. (C) Cover Media
