(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Beyonc Knowles cant wait for fans to see the real her in her new DVD.

The 29-year-old superstar is releasing footage from her I Am... World Tour, which documents the singers live performances over the past year. The film will show carefully edited clips of Beyonc on stage which have produced and directed by the singer herself.

"I'm so excited, this is my directorial debut. I am just thrilled that my fans are going to be in the theatre with me and I can't wait for everyone to see it," she gushed.

"It took me nine months to edit because I wanted to show a little bit of each show, each performance on tour, and it was 116 shows, so you can only imagine how much work it was, it was worth it."

Despite being in the public eye for the last decade, Beyonc wanted to use the freedom created by the DVD to showcase her own personality. She went on to explain that it was her absolute control over the project which enabled her to exhibit so much of herself.

"I felt like I've done so many different things, it's time for me to show a bit of who I am. The hardest thing was showing that, because a lot of things that I filmed, I filmed in my computer, and I would never have gotten so open if someone else was in the room," she explained. (C) Cover Media
