'Bombay Velvet' goes out of budget

15th October 2014

Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet' has been hitting roadblocks ever since its first schedule.

First, Anurag had to leave the shoot mid way due to some tax inquiries targeted on him and then Ranbir Kapoor getting involved with his other projects like 'Roy' and 'Jagga Jasoos' kept the project on the backburner.

The film has been over-budgeted now. Scheduled to release in 2014, the film is now pushed to May 2015.

Rumour has it that few portions of the film will be re-shot. But a source states, "The film requires heavy VFX in the post-production, so the makers are opting to re-edit portions rather than reshooting them."

Anurag Kashyap says, "The film is edited, locked and in post-production. The length was never 3 hours and 20 minutes. All the rumour-mongers can have a field day creating conspiracy theories. It does not matter to us."
