5th November 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ben Stiller has joked that Brad Pitt was cast in Megamind because his career could use a boost.

Ben is the movies executive producer, and he also provides the voice of Bernard in the animated tale about a supervillain called Megamind who finally conquers his rival and then gets bored with life.

The film boasts an A-list cast, with top Hollywood comedy stars such as Will Ferrell, Jonah Hill and Tina Fey all providing voiceovers.

Handsome Brads casting in the role was rather a surprise as hes better known for playing serious characters.

Funnyman Ben admits Brad was an unusual choice for the part of Metro Man, and teased he thought the Hollywood heartthrobs career needed to be enhanced.

"We wanted to give him a break. We felt like he could use a boost right now in his career," laughed Ben.

"We figured things aren't really popping with the on-camera work, maybe the voice thing will get him something. So I'm hoping he'll owe us for this one."

Megamind director Tom McGrath was quick to praise Brad, saying he was impressed with the depth of character he brought to the role. He also revealed gorgeous Brad has an excellent sense of humour and delivered his lines with perfect comic timing.

"You know, he's not just the cardboard hero, he's got another layer to him not to give anything away and he's funny," gushed Tom. (C) Cover Media
