(Cover) - EN Showbiz - A new Michael Jackson album with previously unreleased material is set for release next month.

Fans of the music megastar, who tragically died aged 50 last year, have been eagerly awaiting the release of the posthumous album.

The record is entitled simply Michael, and will officially go on sale on December 14, announced Epic Records yesterday.

The hotly anticipated album will give fans the chance to hear previously unheard songs recorded in the years before the talented star passed away. Some of the songs Michael never had the chance to finish have been completed by other artists.

Michael had been writing and recording a huge amount of material in the last few years of his life, collaborating with musicians in studios everywhere from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.

The debut single will be a track called Breaking News, which was initially recorded by the star at a friends home in New Jersey three years ago, and has been completed recently. Fans will be able to stream the song from Michaels official website michaeljackson.com for one week as of Monday November 8.

Michael is part of a ten-album deal with Sony which was announced back in March. (C) Cover Media
