Jessica Alba happy with movie roles

5th November 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jessica Alba admits she hasnt always been swimming in the deep end with her movie roles, but she doesnt care.

The 29-year-old actress has appeared in films including Valentines Day, The Love Guru and Fantastic Four, and doesnt regret any of her career choices. Although she has been criticised for not taking on meatier parts, Jessica insists all her roles have been right for her.

I know I haven't been swimming in the deep end with some of the movies I've done. I wasn't trying to. I knew what they were, she told the December issue of Elle magazine.

The star admits nasty reviews used to get to her, but now she just doesnt listen. She has started to feel more confident with her ability as she has got older, and knows she is good at her job. The star is now so comfortable with movie making she often adds her own lines to script, which Jessica says is common practice.

I'd been so afraid of criticism ever since I was young. Every time I'd get a critique or some redirection, I'd always just take it very personally, but now I have no problem with it, she said. It's just a chance to try things a different way. To play more with a character. It also gives me a chance to have some input, to use my voice.

Good actors, never use the script unless it's amazing writing. All the good actors I've worked with, they all say whatever they want to say.

The star added as her career has progressed she has started to enjoy working in comedy more, as it allows her to lose herself completely. Playing funny characters allows her to forget her inhibition and introspection, which she loves. (C) Cover Media
