November 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): A R Rahman is one of the most renowned music composers not only in India but around the world as well. And so it may seem that a music school to be opened by the musician would get the required amount of help, financially and otherwise, in a very short span of time. Disappointingly, the case is not so. According to reports circulating in the media, the Rs. 50 crore music conservatory that A R Rahman had proposed to build in India will take some time to be built because it is becoming difficult for the composer to collect the required amount of cash and decide on the right people who may take care of the administration of the music school.
Amidst the crisis that A R Rahman faces, a question arises in the minds of several people who are of the opinion that Indian parents are still not convinced about the fact that music can be an equally satisfying career for their children, despite the fact that India is doing really well in music and several other art forms in international circles.
A statement released by A R Rahmans representative says that he wants to finalize the nitty-grittys associated with his music school by the end of next year. It is for this reason that A R Rahman has also taken a break from work and is focusing his attention on investors for his project and people who may successfully look after administration work after the music conservatory has been established.
