Censor society's cancer: Mallika

16th June 2011

Mallika Sherawat, who redefined the 'sex' factor and first projected a bold avatar with equal lan in her films like 'Khwahish' and 'Murder', is once again in a rebellious mood. Most of Mallika's films have come under the censor's hammer and have been passed only after the objectionable scene's trimming. It seems that Mallika hasn't had her share of controversies yet and is actually creating some for herself. Recently, Mallika called the governing Censor Board as 'Cancer of Society'. Mallika declared that the Censor Board is to society what cancer is to the human body, meaning that it degrades the performance. Well this is not the first time that she has taken pot shots at the censor board, before this, every time her bold scenes were to be chopped from certain films, her reactions have always been bold and outrageous.

Barring her few item numbers; she doesn't have any such controversial film that has come under the censor's scanner in recent times. The only film that she currently has on her platter is 'Double Dhamaal' that's a comic caper and has no objectionable scenes but her clothes in her item number 'Jalebi Bai' did come under the scanner. We wonder whether this comment is pitched to garner some publicity for her upcoming film, as she has very well mastered the art of promoting films through controversies.
