It was a chaotic situation at Bihar Sharif as over five lakh people had gathered there to catch a glimpse of actor Ajay Devgn who had been campaigning for NDA in Bihar.
Reportedly the actor was supposed to attend two rallies at Bihar Sharif and in the Nalanda district respectively to canvas for BJP candidate Sunil Kumar, but the plan went for a toss following safety concerns since a gargantuan crowd had gathered in the area.
The Superintendent of Police, Vivekanand Kumar, said, "A huge crowd had gathered at the ground and it was difficult for 200 policemen to control it. The police had to resort to lathi charge when the crowd started throwing chairs and pelting stones; at least a dozen people, including some policemen, were injured in the scuffle. That's when we asked the actor to turn his chopper around."
Ajay Devgn who had successfully attended five rallies earlier in the state said, "It had gone off well and the crowd was manageable then. But this time, the crowd had magnified and was difficult to control."
Ajay also took to twitter to express his opinion about this situation and tweeted, "Aaj Bihar Sharif aur Nalanda main pahunch nahin paane ke liye maafi. Because of the uncontrollable crowd, the officials did not give me permission to land."
