Charlie Sheen admits to steroid use

29th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen has admitted using steroids while filming the movie Major League.

The 45-year-old actor has never shied away from discussing drug use but it is the first time he has spoken about experimenting with substances to boost his performance.

He revealed that steroids helped his athletic performance when he played a baseball player in the 1989 movie.

In the latest issue of Sports Illustrated, Charlie explains what he did to beef up for the role.

"Let's just say that I was enhancing my performance a little bit. It was the only time I ever did steroid," the former Two and a Half Men star admitted.

He stated that he took the drug for nearly two months to improve his athletic abilities but that he stopped using them after he lost control of his already volatile temper.

"I did them for like six or eight weeks," he added. "You can print this, I don't give a f**k. My fastball went from 79 [mph] to like 85."

Charlie has been open about his extensive drug use in the past and said that he was "banging seven-gram rocks" and that he "probably took more [drugs] than anybody could survive".

His ex-wife Brooke Mueller instigated legal proceedings earlier this week to garnish $55,000 a month from his wages to ensure she would receive child support payments for their two-year-old twins Bob and Max. (C) Cover Media
