Charlie Sheen attends family screening

26th September 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen made a surprise appearance at his brother's movie screening over the weekend.

The American actor joined his brother Emilio Estvez, older sibling Ramon Estvez and their father Martin Sheen at the AARP Movies for Grownups Film Festival in Los Angeles on Friday night.

Charlie was there to support Emilio ahead of the release of his new film The Way, which stars actor father Martin and was written, directed and produced by Emilio.

Organisers of the screening told the New York Post they were "shocked" to see the notoriously badly-behaved star on the red carpet alongside the rest of his family.

Charlie was wearing a black suit, white shirt and red tie to the festival - and delighted photographers and audiences alike by playing up to the cameras with his brother.

The Way focuses on the story of a father who travels to France to collect the remains of his son who was killed in a storm while walking a famous northwestern Spanish route - The Way of St James. The upcoming movie is dedicated to Martin's father, Francisco Estvez. He was a Spanish immigrant who settled in the American state of Ohio.

Martin's birth name is Ramn Gerardo Antonio Estvez, but he adopted his western name once his acting career began to take off. Martin has four children with actress Janet Templeton - Emilio, Ramon, Carlos and Renee.

All three kept the surname name apart from Carlos - who is now known as Charlie Sheen.

Charlie had a very public meltdown earlier this year, which saw him fired from his coveted Two and a Half Men role. He fell out with producer Chuck Lorre and sparked concern with his controversial private life. (C) Cover Media
