Charlie Sheen keen for closure'

16th September 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Sheen wanted "closure" with Two and a Half Men for a while after his sacking.

Since 2009 the 46-year-old actor has had several highly publicised struggles with substance abuse, court cases and deteriorating family relationships. Charlie's career was also affected by the turmoil, with him losing his role on highly successful television show Two and a Half Men. He'd been committed to the part since 2003 and Charlie admits that his axing was a big blow.

"I thought when I was still doing my tour that there was a shot [at going back to the show]," Charlie said to anchor Matt Lauer on the America's Today show Friday morning. "Regardless of how I felt about some of the people, or how it went wrong, or why it went wrong, I still wanted to have some measure of closure with the show. That's the part that really hurt the most, was not feeling like I could ever really finish it, just cut off, right in the middle."

Charlie is now devoted to rectifying the mistakes of his past. He believes that he just went through a rough patch and that he has since transformed into a better person.

"I think it's important that people see that I see and I feel that that was just one crazy chapter, one weird phase, and that I was this guy before it started and I can be that guy again afterwards, you know," Charlie said.

Charlie's Comedy Central Roast airs in the US on September 19. (C) Cover Media
