(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlize Theron has joked she will attend the Golden Globe Awards ceremony "covered in mud".
The star has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture Comedy or Musical for her role in Young Adult.
However, the actress joked that she would ditch her usual red carpet style for the event in January.
"I'm thinking I'm going covered in mud this year," she told Entertainment Tonight.
Charlize is thrilled to be in the running for the prestigious prize again.
She has been nominated for a Golden Globe three times in the past and won once in 2003 for her performance in Monster.
She went on to explain how she first heard about her new nomination.
"I got a call from my friend and publicist at 5.30. And that was a really nice 5.30am call," she smiled. "I was really excited and my mom called and emails started pouring in it was so lovely."
Diablo Cody, who wrote the movie, was also delighted to hear that Charlize had been recognised.
She sent the actress a bunch of flowers to congratulate her.
"I haven't spoken to her yet, but I did send her a lovely bouquet. I'm really excited, I'm really proud of this movie," she enthused. "To me the critical attention has been really gratifying. I'm happy." (C) Cover Media
