Chris Brown "has nothing to hide" following accusations that he snatched a phone.
The 23-year-old singer is currently on probation for assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna three years ago.
Christal Spann, a fan of Chris', alleges she followed Chris out of Cameo nightclub in Miami over the weekend and took a photo of the singer with her phone.
Chris became aggravated, grabbed her iPhone, yelled, "B***h, you ain't going to put that on the Internet", then drove off in his Bentley.
Christal filed a police report on Sunday and the Miami-Dade Police Department have launched an investigation into the matter.
Chris is believed to have little anxiety about the inquiry.
"The moment Chris became aware that this woman filed a police report, he contacted [his lawyer] Mark [Geragos], who has been talking to the prosecutors in Florida for several days," a source told Radar Online. "Chris says he has nothing to hide and is hopeful that he won't be charged with stealing the phone."
If Chris is arrested, his probation for his felony battery charge against Rihanna is likely to be instantly revoked. If that should occur, Chris could spend time in jail for violation of probation, despite whether or not he is actually found guilty of theft.
"Chris wouldn't need to be convicted in the Miami case, if he is charged. The conditions of his felony probation are very, very strict," the insider explained. "Chris must obey all laws and not be arrested for any other crimes. This could be a huge nightmare for the singer's probation if he is arrested and charged."
Authorities have not yet determined whether or not Chris will be indicted.
"The matter is still under investigation, and no decision has been made about whether or not Chris will be charged with any crime," the source said. "The Florida State's Attorney's Office will decide whether or not to file any charges against Brown."
