(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Brown was thrilled when a fan returned his $22,000 diamond watch.

The R&B heartthrob accidentally threw the Rolex watch into the crowd at the beginning of his performance at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday night.

The gold watch with a white oyster face and diamond-encrusted bezel had come loose on his wrist, so Chris took it off and tried to throw it to a safe place.

However, he was dancing at the time so his aim was a little off and he ended up tossing it into the audience.

Chris was upset after losing the timepiece and feared he would never see it again. His bodyguard went into the crowd after his performance and asked fans if they had seen it.

He didn't expect anyone to turn it in, but was delighted when one honest person came forward to return the watch.

"Although Chris did not get to meet the fan, he is very appreciative of the fan's actions," a representative for the singer told TMZ.

Chris was thrilled to be reunited with his watch and has been wearing it ever since. (C) Cover Media
