Whitney Houston had cocaine in her system when she passed, officials report.
The I Will Always Love You singer was found dead in a bathtub at a Beverly Hills hotel last month.
TMZ reports that the Los Angeles County Coroner has just released a full report on Whitney's official cause of death.
According to authorities Whitney died of an accidental drowning.
Officials note that there were several contributing factors that may have precipitated this event.
Whitney had heart disease and heavy cocaine use was apparent. Authorities believe that the star may have suffered from a heart attack, which caused her to lose consciousness and drown in the tub.
The heart attack may in turn have been triggered by the hardening of the arteries, which is a typical anatomical reaction for those who use cocaine heavily.
Investigators didn't find cocaine anywhere in the hotel room where Whitney died as they canvassed the scene.
Several pills were found on the premises, including prescription drug Xanax, premenstrual relief medicine Midol and pain reliever Ibuprofen.
Law enforcement doesn't suspect foul play in the matter and state that Whitney's death was not a homicide.
