Ravi Teja, the Mass Maharaja of Telugu cinema, is back. This time with 'Daruvu'. Though the fim has all the ingredients that one would expect from a Ravi Teja starrer, somehow it fails to impress us big time.

As a result, while coming out of the cinema hall after watching 'Daruvu', we get a feel of watching yet another movie of Tollywood and not something special from Ravi Teja.

But it should be said that it's Ravi Teja who is the pillar of support to 'Daruvu', for he lends solid support to the script with his performance. Taapsee Pannu adds value with her killer-smile, while Brahmanandam and others are a right choice for their respective characters.

Bullet Raja (Ravi Teja), a thief, is in love with Shweta (Taapsee). A local goon Harbour Babu (Sushant Singh) who is also in love with Shweta kills Bullet Raja.

As Raja reaches Yama Lokam, he finds out that his death is a deliberate mistake by Lord Chitragupta, a close aide of Lord Yama Dharma Raja.

Since Bullet Raja's body has been cremated, Yama Dharma Raja sends his soul back to enter the body of Home Minister who is corrupt but funny. What's next is the second half.

Ravi Teja comes out with an energetic performance once again. Taapsee fills the glamour gap well with her performance and costume. Brahmanandam, as Vidya Balan, tickles the funny bone well, while Sushant Singh is menacing.

Vijay Antony's music is average, while cinematography and other technical departments are okay. 'Daruvu' has nothing new to offer and at the end, it becomes just a time pass film. The dialogues to are average. A political angle added to a predictable storyline could have taken it a few notches higher but director Shiva fails in forming the correct screenplay. You can head to a theatre screening of 'Daruvu' if you have ample time to kill.
