(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Arquette has confessed he cried the first time he slept with a woman after agreeing to a trial separation from Courteney Cox.

Courteney and David, who met on the set of the first Scream film in 1996, announced earlier this month they have decided to spend some time apart after 11 years of marriage. The pair have agreed they can see other people and David has returned to the dating scene but admits it hasnt been easy.

In a radio interview yesterday, David says he broke down in tears when he had sex with another woman, "because it was the end of all the intimacy I shared with my wife."

He also adamantly denied he had ever cheated on Courteney during their relationship. I was faithful to my wife for 11 years... completely devoted, he told Regis & Kelly.

David has also made another appearance on Howard Sterns radio show.

The 39-year-old spoke to the DJ soon after the separation had been announced and made a series of outspoken comments. He admitted Courteney had told him she had grown tired of mothering him and they had stopped having sex months ago. He confirmed rumours he had slept with 28-year-old bartender Jasmine Waltz. David later apologised for his behaviour via his Twitter account.

The star has now told Howard that Courteney was furious with him for speaking so candidly about their marital problems.

"She got really p**sed," David told Howard yesterday. "We talked it all out and then we took a walk and it was great She had a right to get upset about some of the personal details."

David is still hoping their relationship can be saved by spending some time apart, adding he is still deeply in love with 46-year-old Courteney. (C) Cover Media
