Dominic Cooper: Fashion is oppressive

11th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Dominic Cooper isnt that interested in fashion as he thinks its oppressive.

The British star is known for his varied roles in movies such as Mamma Mia! and The Duchess, and has also done theatre and television work. His job means he often has to attend red-carpet events such as film premieres and industry parties, and although he likes them he is less keen on having to dress up for them.

I dont think I spend too much time on fashion. It can become a bit oppressive and make people feel insecure. But if it makes you feel good then why not take an interest? Putting on a great suit can help give you a bounce, he said.

The 32-year-old sometimes thinks he should take more interest in his appearance and clothing, as he hates it when he doesnt look good. He finds watching himself on screen tough as he is so judgemental.

But Im very self-critical and find it difficult to watch myself on screen or see pictures of me. In films, I find it hard to believe Im anyone but myself. Its just me pulling silly faces, he told Company magazine. (C) Cover Media
