Dr. Conrad Murray: I want to speak at sentencing hearing

22nd November 2011

Dr. Conrad Murray has told his lawyer that he wants to speak at his sentencing hearing, it is reported.

The 58-year-old former physician was found guilty earlier this month for the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson who died from acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009.

Murray is currently in jail awaiting his fate and has already had his medical licence revoked.

But RadarOnline claims that Murray wants to address the Los Angeles court and Judge Michael Pastor during his next appearance on November 29.

"Dr. Murray wanted to testify, and feels that if he had, there is no way he would have been convicted," a source told the site.

"Murray is livid that his lawyers didn't put him on the stand and has said he plans on pleading with Judge Michael Pastor for mercy.

"Murray will admit no guilt, and not take any responsibility for his actions. Murray plans on appealing and wants the judge to give him probation only for killing Michael Jackson."

The District Attorney however, could use footage from a documentary Murray participated in throughout the trial against him.

Several of Jackson's family members are expected to make victim impact statements at the hearing next Tuesday and the King of Pop's children could also write letters to the judge that would be read out in court.

The convicted felon spoke to The Today Show before being found guilty and maintains that he is innocent.

"I don't feel guilty, because I did not do anything wrong," Murray said. "I am very, very sorry for the loss of Michael Michael is a personal friend. It's heartfelt. It's been painful."

Murray faces up to four years in prison.
