Dr. Conrad Murray's girlfriend testifies

4th October 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dr. Conrad Murray's girlfriend Nicole Alvarez testified in the Michael Jackson case this morning on day six of the trial.

The prosecution questioned the budding actress, who is also mother to one of Murray's young children, and she gave animated replies on the stand.

She was asked if she knew that Murray was on a $150,000 a month salary which she denied.

But Prosecutor Deborah Brazil said that the response was contradictory to testimony she had previously given where she admitted that she knew of her partner's large salary long before it became public.

Alvarez, 29, then claimed that her memory was a little bit fuzzy on the subject.

Jackson died in June 2009 from acute Propofol intoxication but Murray has denied that he was the one to administer the lethal dose of the anesthetic.

Alvarez told the court that she met Murray in a Las Vegas nightclub in 2005 and they began dating a few months later.

She said she was "speechless" when the physician introduced her to the King of Pop in 2008.

Alvarez says when she gave birth to their son in 2009 that Jackson was "interested" in the baby and wanted to arrange to see the child more often.

She told the court that leading up to the day of Jackson's death, Murray was leaving home at 9pm almost every night would come back in the morning.

She also admitted that she signed for seven packages delivered to her apartment in April, May and June of that year but claimed she never opened them as they were addressed to Murray, and did not know what was in them.

They were later known to contain the anesthetic drug Propofol.

She told the court that she spoke to Murray several times on the fateful day that the Thriller star died including when he was en route to the hospital with Jackson.

"I remember him telling me that he was on the way to the hospital in the ambulance with Mr. Jackson, and for me not to be alarmed," Alvarez testified.

The defence team had no questions for the witness and she left the stand without being cross-examined. (C) Cover Media
