(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Duffy has admitted she would have rather been eating cake than recording her latest album.

The 26-year-old Welsh singer shot to fame with her debut album Rockferry in 2008, although she didnt rush to bring out a second record, waiting until this year to emerge with Endlessly, which she is currently promoting.

Duffy is passionate about music, although she admits there were moments during the making of the second album where she questioned why she was working so hard. The singer is dating hunky Welsh rugby star Mike Phillips, and she admits sometimes she would have preferred to have been relaxing with him.

While making the record, I kept asking myself, 'What am I doing this for?' she told USA Today.

To be honest, I would have enjoyed myself more eating cake and watching Cinema Paradiso while snuggling up to my 6ft 3ins boyfriend.

Nevertheless, the gorgeous songstress admits there was still something which led her to continue with the record, which she describes as a yearning that always makes me go back and write. In fact, Duffy would even go so far as to say shes obsessed with song writing. It's like an addiction, she explained.

Duffy also opened up about her love for Mike. The talented star recalled how she was once told to marry a gentleman who spoke well and had nice eyes, and she thinks Mike fits the bill.

"There's a real sense of safety with him," she beamed. "He has very nice blue eyes as well. An elderly woman once told me, 'Marry someone with nice eyes and a nice voice, because the rest will change.' He's got both." (C) Cover Media
