Edward Norton has to be challenged'

4th August 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Edward Norton prefers to delve into "unfamiliar worlds."

The 42-year-old actor was born into affluence, as his father was a Maryland lawyer and his grandfather the CEO of a construction company.

Edward attended Yale and worked for his grandfather's business in Japan following graduating from college in 1991.

Edward is happy that he decided to leave the corporate world behind to pursue his acting career.

"I have to be challenged. I like things that are unfamiliar, worlds that I haven't knocked around in before," he told British newspaper The Independent.

"And I like to align myself with whatever is good that is going on."

Edward is preparing for the release of his new film The Bourne Legacy.

The narrative in the spy thriller is laced with complex moral situations.

Edward feels the film is very relevant to society.

"There is a perception that class warfare is starting to be staged," Edward explained. "But what is really interesting to me is that the corporate side has been waging a culture war on us for the last 40 years and now they're screaming at us: 'Don't [vilify] the rich!' They're crying foul and I just don't think they should. The rich aren't overburdened."

The Bourne Legacy will be in US theatres August 10. (C) Cover Media
