(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Elton John and his athlete buddy Wayne Rooney reportedly have a lot in common.

The iconic musician and the Manchester United football player became friends in 2003.

Elton and Wayne love catching a laugh with one another.

The pair looked incredibly amused when they visited with one another backstage at one of Elton's Million Dollar Piano concerts at Ceasars Palace in Las Vegas recently.

"They've got football and singing in common because Wayne loves karaoke," a source told British newspaper The Sun. "And jokes about Wayne's hair transplant were flying, as Elton's transplant is one of the most famous."

Elton was treated for a "serious respiratory infection" in May at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Elton has been completing his Greatest Hits Tour since last year, but his health scare forced him to cancel a few shows he was due to give in Las Vegas last week.

The 65-year-old singer bounced back to vigour at Diamond Jubilee Concert in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Monday night, performing a riveting three-song set. (C) Cover Media
