(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Emma Stone had a "meltdown" after losing a role in Heroes to Hayden Panettiere.
The 22-year-old US actress boasts a successful Hollywood career, having impressed critics with roles in movies such as Easy A and Superbad, although she admits her rise to stardom was far from easy.
Emma recalls auditioning for a part in hit US television series Heroes, which aired from 2006 to 2010, although the role of cheerleader Claire Bennet went to 21-year-old Hayden.
"I could hear that, in the other room, a girl had just gone in and they were saying, You are our pick On a scale of 1 to 10 you're an 11,'" Emma heard casting directors tell Hayden.
"I went home and just had this meltdown."
Despite describing this moment as "rock bottom", Emma went on to launch herself in Hollywood. The actress, who will portray Gwen Stacy in the upcoming reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, is still struggling to fathom her success. She has no plans to fall victim to the excesses of fame, although teased her vices include illegal drugs.
"That's pretty much it, the heroin, the sugar, and the winenothing too crazy," she laughed in the interview with Vanity Fair.
Emma has been linked to her Spider-Man co-star, British actor Andrew Garfield. The actress doesn't feel comfortable discussing her love life or anything too personal and didn't deny or confirm the rumours.
"Talking about this stuff is pretty new," she told the publication.
"The only solution I've come to when it comes to things like that - the health of my family or dating, really personal things - is not to talk about it." (C) Cover Media
