Vidya Balan mesmerised us with her performance in the film 'Kahaani 2' and now she is back again with a new avatar and a new story of her upcoming film 'Begum Jaan.' The first look of the film is out and we cannot wait for the film to hit the theatres.

The first look of the film shows TV hottie Gauahar Khan in her complete de-glam avatar and Vidya Balan, the head of the brothel just looks unrecognisable. Dressed in a Punjabi suit Vidya is seen lying on a cot smoking Hookah while the other woman looks by. It is a remake of the famous Bengali film Rajkahini and is based on the backdrop of the struggle and problems faced by a woman in brothel. The story revolves around her efforts to save the brothel during the partition period as the brothel is set upon the border of India and Pakistan.

Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the film also stars Pallavi Sharda, Gauahar Khan, Ila Arun, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajit Kapur and many others. It is slated to release on March 17, 2017.
