(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Florence + the Machine are ready to release a second album.

British songstress Florence Welch released her debut album Lungs in 2009. The record was a commercial success, picking up a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize and winning MasterCard British Album at the 2010 BRIT Awards.

Florence began recording new material for her highly-anticipated album this year during a five-week summer session.

The 24-year-old singer - whose hits include Dog Days are Over and Rabbit Heart (Raise it Up) - has now confirmed plans to release the record in November.

Paul Epworth is producer on the album, following his critically-acclaimed work on Adele's hugely successful second album, 21.

Florence has detailed what she hopes to achieve with her upcoming record.

"With Lungs, I hit on the sound I wanted about halfway through making it. There were so many different influences, and the differences between a song like Kiss with a Fist and Dog Days are huge because I'd written one when I was 17 and one when I was 21," she told PitchFork.

"With this record, I've been able to expand on the idea that I was hitting on towards the end of making Lungs. It's like taking everything from the first album that seemed quite separate and making them whole."

Florence + the Machine recently posted the first song from the new record. What the Water Gave Me will appear alongside 12 other tracks, and is named after a painting by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.
