Florence Welch is "freaked out" by her success in the charts.
The British songstress and her band Florence + The Machine burst onto the music scene in 2009 with their breakthrough debut record Lungs. The band recently released their critically-acclaimed second album Ceremonials.
Florence admits she still feels overwhelmed by her success.
"The reaction from people is incredible. I can't quite believe it. I'm like Wow, people actually like it, it's not a total disaster,'" she laughed in an interview with ET Online.
"Everything's going well, and I'm freaked out by that as well."
Florence drew on a number of elements from Lungs to produce her second album. The red-headed star says Ceremonials includes an eclectic mix of music genres throughout.
"It's more of a development of Lungs, rather than a step away from it," she explained.
"My main goal was to make an album sound like an album, not a collection of songs. I think this album is definitely kind of a reflection of like having an iPodI think the album is almost like a reflection of that, of being a part of that generation.
"Just picking bits from soul, bits from even like hip hop influences and it's that mix of styles that really influences me."
