Alia's success reminds Pooja Bhatt of her heydays

24th November 2014

Actor turned filmmaker Pooja Bhatt has been very vocal about the things that she believes in. From scripts, to actors to going against censor board or supporting the LGBT community, the star has been famous for wearing her heart on her sleeve.

And hence it comes as no surprise when she goes gaga in praising her half-sister Alia Bhatt. The 21-year-old Alia is very dear to Pooja who considers her as her 'little baby' and is proud that she is doing so well.

"Ever since she was a child, Alia has wanted to be an actress. She was very clear. I am happy to see that she is on a roll. She is my little baby and I am very proud of her," she said.

However contrary to the rumors that she will be soon working with her, Pooja exclaims that she will work with her, only when she has a good project where Alia can fit in. "I know people want me to make a film with Alia, but in our family we don't have the habit of using someone's stardom for personal gains," she added. She further stated that Alia's success reminds her of her heydays.

"Alia is in a wonderful phase. It reminds me of the time when I began my career. I had three hits in a row with films like Daddy (1989), Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1991) and Sadak (1991)," she stated. She who last directed 'Jism 2' in 2012 is in no hurry to helm a film any time soon.

"After Jism 2, I decided to invest in talent, good stories and scripts. For example, I spotted Gulshan Devaiah in films like Shaitan (2011) and Hate Story (2012), and I saw potential in him. I gave him a two-film deal, which I normally don't. So, I am enjoying this phase now. Direction will happen when it has to happen. I am happy doing this right now," she clarified.
