Hard work paid off really well for the former beauty queen Priyanka Chopra! The dusky beauty who made her debut in Bollywood after winning the 'Miss World' title more than a decade back, has come a long way as an actress.

Her career as an actress has always been dominated by bold choices like 'Andaaz', 'Aitraaz', 'Don', 'Fashion', 'Barfi' and her latest Biopic on Mary Kom where her performance as the Indian Olympic athlete has earned her accolades.

The National Award winning actress is praised for her hard work that she did to look and play the part. It is her efforts that have set the box office registers ringing as the film is a commercial hit too.

Priyanka who is on cloud nine for obvious reasons states that why she always strives to do different edgy cinema. "I believe that my cinema, apart from entertaining, should at least attempt to create a world that youngsters and women demand to live in. Mary's story was something that has personally been an inspiration to me and I wanted it to reach women across the country," said PC.

The critical and commercial success of 'Mary Kom' proves that she is a bankable star however she confesses that the triumph of the film means much more to her. "The film's success makes me believe that people want to embrace good and hopeful episodes of life and its box-office success gives me a sense of relief that one can do this on one's own terms," she concluded on a positive and a confident note.
