17th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Florence Welch nearly broke down in tears went her guitarist went missing moments before making her Glastonbury festival debut.

The flame haired singer was due to perform at the iconic music event in 2007 when she noticed that her guitarist was absent. And couple that with the fact that she hadn't slept for two days, the singer was close to tears when she got up on stage by herself.

"When I first played Glastonbury in 2007, I hadn't made it to bed for two days beforehand. I was taken to a tea tent to be revived then found out my guitarist had gone AWOL," she told Glamour magazine. "I went on stage shaking, nearly crying and had to do the first half of the gig a cappella until he suddenly reappeared!"

Florence is famed for her energetic stage performances, and is often seen climbing onto speakers. She recently revealed that she loses control of her actions while performing in front of crowds.

"It's a feeling of being possessed. It's a strange sort of witchcraft, almost like voodoo or something. I see people in the audience and it's like we're all in it together, but at the same time, you're disappearing." (C) Cover Media
