(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Fred Durst "really connects" to late Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain.

The Limp Bizkit frontman explained there is a track called On My Own Cobain on the band's upcoming album, Gold Cobra, which will be released on June 27. The song articulates Fred's depression and is an "expression of that turmoil".

Kurt, who battled addiction and mental health problems, committed suicide in 1994. He has been a real influence on rocker Fred, who hinted he has his set of issues to battle.

"I've been impacted by his poetry, his philosophies and music, obviously," he told Kerrang! magazine. "I really connect with him. I have my own torture."

Fred is so taken with the Nirvana rocker that he even tattooed his image on his chest.

He revealed an old song from Limp Bizkit's 2000 album Chocolate Starfish And The Hot Dog Flavored Water was also influenced by Kurt and his depression.

"I try not to elaborate too much on the metaphors, but here's something I haven't told a lot of people," he said. "We have an older song called It'll Be OK. It's directly about me fantasising inside of the depression of someone with a tortured mind, like Kurt Cobain." (C) Cover Media
